This weeks Hussle Topic is all about how to grow an audience

Yo Hussle fam,

If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve been putting in the work—creating, posting, sharing—but you’re still not seeing the growth you hoped for. First off, let me tell you, you’re not alone. Growing an audience is probably one of the biggest challenges creatives and entrepreneurs face. But don’t get upset about it; there are some things you can do to help.

1. Focus on Quality Over Quantity

It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers—how many followers, likes, or shares you’re getting. But remember, it’s better to have a smaller, engaged audience than a large one that doesn’t care. Focus on creating high-quality content that adds real value to your audience. Those initial followers are the people who will be your initial advocates and will be the people who create word of mouth for you in real life.

2. Be Consistent

Consistency is key when it comes to growing your audience. This doesn’t mean you need to post every single day, but it does mean that you should have a regular schedule that your audience can rely on. Whether it’s posting on Instagram, sending out newsletters, or uploading videos, stick to a consistent rhythm so your audience knows when to expect new content.

3. Appreciate every follower and Engage Genuinely with Your Audience

It’s not just about what you post—it’s about how you interact with your followers when you do get them. In your early stages (but also when you do get big) Take the time to reply to comments, answer DMs, and engage with your audience’s content as well. People are more likely to support and follow someone who takes the time to acknowledge them. One thing I’ve always said on my journey is that every follower matters. Someone actually following you and engaging with you isn’t a given, so its not something that should be taken for granted.

4. Leverage the Power of Collaboration

Collaboration can be a game-changer for audience growth. Partner with other creatives or brands that align with your values and audience. This could be through joint projects, guest posts, or shoutouts. When you collaborate, you’re introduced to each other’s audiences, which can lead to a significant increase in your following.

5. Tell Your Story

When I was coming up, I read a book by Jamal Edwards and in it he said “People connect with People” and is something that has stayed with me ever since. People connect with stories, not just products or services. Share your journey—talk about the highs and lows, the challenges, and the wins. Let your audience see the person behind the brand. When people feel like they know you, they’re more likely to become loyal followers and advocates.

6. Be Patient and Persistent

Building an auience doesn’t happen overnight. It does require a lot of patience and persistence. Keep refining your content, stay true to your vision, and most importantly, don’t give up. Every big brand or influencer started small—what set them apart was their determination to keep going even when growth was slow.

Growing an audience is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s about building genuine connections, providing value, and staying consistent. Don’t be discouraged by slow progress—every new follower is a step forward. Keep pushing, keep creating, and your audience will grow over time.

You’ve got this.

Stay hustling,

Ibrahim Kamara
