This weeks Hussle Topic is all about juggling it all being a multi-faceted creative

Hey Hussle Fam,
If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a lot going on—whether it’s running a business, creating content, working on new projects, or in my case, releasing new music (i’m building a community of music lovers - would really love your support please join here!) while managing everything else. Being a multi-hyphenate means wearing many hats and exploring different creative lanes, but it can also be overwhelming if you don’t have the right systems in place.
So how do you stay on top of it all without losing your mind? Let’s dive into how I do it, and some actionable tips that can help you manage multiple creative hussles.
1. Embrace the Overlap
One of the biggest benefits of being a multi-hyphenate is that the skills from one hussle often fuel the others. For example, my experience running GUAP gives me insights into launching my music independently. The branding, marketing techniques, and content creation strategies I use to grow the business directly help me build my artist profile. There’s no “one or the other”—it’s all connected.
Hussle Action:
Take a moment to list out all of your projects and ask yourself, “What are the common skills, tools, or knowledge that apply to multiple areas?” For instance, if you’re a photographer who’s also into fashion, how can you combine those to enhance both? Or if you’re a designer starting a product line, can you apply the design skills you use for clients to create your brand? The overlap can simplify your workflow and keep your creativity flowing across all areas.
2. Prioritise religiously
Let’s be real—when you’ve got several things happening at once, not everything can get your attention at the same time. You need to prioritize what’s going to move you forward the most in the present moment. In the next couple weeks for me, right now, it’s releasing my music. But that doesn’t mean I’m dropping the other things on my plate. It just means I’m clear on what’s going to have the most impact today, this week, or this month.
Hussle Action:
At the start of every week, write down the key projects or tasks you’re working on. Identify the top 3 priorities—the things that will have the biggest impact on your long-term goals. Whether that’s finishing a project fora brand, releasing a new product, or launching a campaign, focus your energy there first. Everything else? Schedule it for later or break it down into smaller steps that can be tackled when the high-priority stuff is done.
3. Create Systems, Not Chaos
Having multiple things going on at once can feel chaotic—unless you have systems in place. Systems are your friend. They allow you to automate, simplify, and get the work done without constantly juggling and shifting gears. Think of them as your safety net to keep everything running smoothly, even when life gets busy.
Hussle Action:
Use tools like Google Calendar to organize your projects, deadlines, and tasks. Set specific times during the day or week to focus on each of your hustles. For example, block out Monday mornings for content creation, Wednesday afternoons for admin tasks, and Fridays for music or personal creative work. Having dedicated time slots helps you stay focused and productive without switching between tasks and losing momentum.
4. Batch Your Work
Switching between different types of creative work (writing, designing, music etc.) can eat up your energy fast. To avoid this, batch your tasks together. Batching means grouping similar tasks and handling them in one go, rather than breaking them up throughout the day or week. It helps you stay in the flow and maintain creative momentum.
Hussle Action:
Look at your weekly tasks and see what you can group together. For instance, if you need to create social media content, batch all your visuals or writing for the week in one go. If you have several projects that require similar skills (like editing photos or designing graphics), block out a day to handle all of them. This reduces the time you spend switching between different tasks and lets you dive deeper into one area.
5. Know When to Delegate or Collaborate
You don’t have to do everything yourself, and honestly, you shouldn’t try to. Some tasks are better handled by people who specialize in that area, and collaborating with others can push your projects forward faster. Whether it’s outsourcing a specific task or teaming up with another creative, knowing when to bring in help is key.
Hussle Action:
Write down what tasks are draining your energy or aren’t your strong suit. Is it time-consuming admin work? Website updates? Accounting? There’s probably someone who can do it faster and better. If your budget is tight, consider collaborating with someone who has a complementary skill set and can exchange services with you.
6. Take Breaks to Refuel Creativity
When you’re constantly juggling multiple projects, burnout can creep up on you. That’s why it’s so important to build in time for rest and creative refueling. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and sometimes the best ideas come when you step away from the grind.
Hussle Action:
Make time in your routine for activities that refuel you creatively. Whether it’s a short walk, listening to music, reading, or spending time with friends, you need to hit pause on work to recharge. Set boundaries for your work hours and respect them. Your creativity thrives when you give it space, and that space is just as important as the work itself.
7. Measure Progress, Not Perfection
When you’re a multi-hyphenate, it’s easy to feel like you’re not moving fast enough. But success isn’t built overnight—it’s a series of small, consistent steps forward. Don’t stress about being perfect in every area. Instead, focus on progress and building momentum.
Hussle Action:
Set measurable goals for each project, and track your progress weekly. Whether it’s launching a product, booking clients, or growing your audience, small wins matter. Celebrate them. Whether that’s finishing a new track, getting a good piece of feedback, or landing a client, those steps add up over time. Remember: The goal isn’t to be perfect in every lane—it’s to keep moving forward.
Why I’m Sharing This Now
As I gear up to release new music, I’m managing multiple hustles—just like you might be. And while it’s challenging, it’s also incredibly rewarding. By embracing the chaos and putting these systems in place, you can thrive as a multi-hyphenate too.
Stay hussling,
Ibrahim
