Let’s talk about consistency. Im not talking bout in the perfect, polished, content-calendar kind of way. I mean more what it means to keep going when life is lifing. When you’ve got bills to take care off, family pressures, creative blocks, and you’re still trying to move forward on your vision.

Because real consistency isn’t about routine. It’s about rhythm. And to be honest that rhythm isn’t always gonna be smooth. Some weeks you’ll be flowing like water (I said this in an african accent lool). Other weeks, you’ll feel like you’re crawling. But to be honest that’s okay. What matters is that you don’t disappear on yourself and go missing.

I’ve had bare seasons where I was juggling GUAP deadlines, trying to release music, figuring out finances and still trying to find space to just think. To be honest I still have those days and some days I don’t have the energy to make or do anything. Other days I surprise myself. What helps me most isn’t trying to do it all.

It’s knowing that showing up imperfectly is better than not showing up at all.

Here’s what I’ve learnt about staying consistent when life isn’t:

1. Redefine what “consistent” looks like for you

Forget the 5am routines and 30-day challenges the internet gurus be telling you. Consistency doesn’t mean showing up the same way every day it means showing up in the way that makes sense for your life and what’s happening.

Some weeks, your consistent might look like writing a full plan. Other weeks, it’s just jotting one good idea in your notes app. That still counts.

Let your version of consistency move with your actual capacity - just got to show up in some way or some form.

2. Make things easier to start

The harder it is to begin, the less likely you will to be honest.vI’ve found that the best way to keep going is to make the process lighter. If I don’t have the time or headspace to film a full shoot, I’ll still do a message to camera on my phone. If I don’t have a new song to promote , I’ll still post something about an old tune. Movement doesn’t always need to be big. It just needs to be real.

3. Don’t confuse slowing down with falling off

Sometimes rest feels like failure, especially in a world that rewards output. But rest is part of the rhythm. Some of my best creative breakthroughs came right after I paused, not while I was grinding non-stop.

You can’t sustain what you don’t respect. And your energy deserves your respect.

So if you’re in a moment right now where life feels like it’s pulling you in different directions, let this be your reminder:vYour dreams don’t expire just because you’re tired.
You’re allowed to adjust the pace. You’re still on time.

We need to be consistent but in a human way.

One small thing a day still adds up. And if you fall off? You can come back. That’s part of the rhythm too.
