today’s note

The older I get, the more I realise that the hardest thing to find in this world isn’t success, money, or recognition - it’s peace.

Think about it. Every day, the world is throwing noise at you:

  • Opinions on how you should live.

  • Timelines for when you should “make it.”

  • Standards you never agreed to.

  • Voices louder than your own.

If you’re not careful, that noise will have you questioning everything. It’ll have you chasing validation, moving with anxiety, or doubting yourself just because you don’t fit someone else’s blueprint.

But here’s what I’ve been learning: peace is power.

When you find peace within yourself, the outside noise doesn’t hit the same. The opinions don’t carry the same weight. You stop reacting to everything and start moving with intention. You stop running away from life, and start walking through it with calm.

For a long time, I thought peace would come from the next achievement - the next check, the next milestone, the next big look. But every time I reached one of those, I realised the feeling didn’t last. That’s because peace doesn’t come from outside. It’s an inside job.

That’s the heart behind my new song BE OKAY (you can listen here). On the surface, it’s about catching flights, leaving worries behind, trying to escape the weight of it all. But the deeper truth is this: no matter where you run, you can’t outrun yourself. You can fly to the other side of the world, but if you don’t deal with what’s inside, the baggage comes with you.

The song is a reminder to myself first that we don’t need to run. We don’t need to constantly chase, prove, or perform. Peace comes when you learn to sit with yourself and still believe: I’ll be okay.

And that shift changes everything.

With peace, you can navigate chaos without being consumed by it. You can listen to your own voice over the crowd. You can stand firm in who you are, even when the world tries to pull you apart.

So my message to you this week is simple: don’t just chase the world’s version of success. Chase peace. Build habits, routines, and spaces that feed your spirit. Protect your energy. Learn to say no. Learn to rest. Learn to trust that you are enough, even when you’re not “doing” anything.

Because once you have peace, everything else falls into place.

ICXN aka Ibrahim Kamara.

I started forevafree* because I believe music can be bigger than the industry lets it be. Too many artists end up chasing labels or waiting for someone else’s approval. That’s not freedom that’s dependency. I really want to approach music differently to what most of the industry tell you you have to do. My goal is to bring together 1,000 people who believe in this vision - not just as listeners, but as part of the movement. If we do that, then the music doesn’t have to answer to anyone else. It stays pure, independent, and rooted in community.

So if you are interested in first listens, monthly hangouts, discounts, and getting paid by listening to the music (forevafree* royalty cards give you ownership of my songs) click here or image below for more information.
